Events

In an effort to Make Peace Happen (in collaboration with the Chicago Peace Campaign), we will literally be lighting up an empty lot on these three July evenings. We will be doing this in two different ways. First, we will be bringing candles, flashlights, car lights, etc. to light up the corner. Second, we will lighting up the corner the Presence of Believers, with Prayer, and with the Proclamation of the Gospel through song and conversations. We will be inviting Christian hip hop artists out to minister during these times.

We are inviting YOU to be a part of this effort to Make Peace Happen! We need your Presence and we need your Prayers! Bring your flashlights & bring your candles! We will have Chicago Peace Campaign signs each night for you to hold and display.

You can help by donating unwrapped items for boys and girls ages 0-18 years old. Wrapping paper, ribbon and cash donations are also welcome. All contributions and proceeds from the Store will go back into the community here in Woodlawn.

Final Drop Off: Noon - 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6 at 500 E. 61st Street, Chicago (call for extension of deadline)

Friends of the organization came to see developments at our 500 E. 61st Street facility. A light lunch was served and a historic tour of the greater Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago, where Sunshine is located, was offered.
