Chicago Half Marathon

The 13th Annual Chicago Half Marathon & 5K is taking place on Sunday, September 13, 2009. Last year's half marathon sold out at 17, 500 participants! So, you won't you to miss this year's opportunity to be fit and stay fit on behalf of Sunshine. Involve yourself with the race as a runner, sponsor, or volunteer.

As a RUNNER... Several runners have been personally asked to represent Sunshine in the 13th Annual Marathon. These runners are runnings in order to help us raise financial support for our various ministriy efforts. Each runner has agreed to seek sponsorship from his/her personal networks in order to help us meet financial goals this year. We are incredibly gratefully for their time, dedication, sore feet, sore knees, and sweaty faces. 

As a SPONSOR... You aren't running the race, but you would like to make a difference. Your financial contribution is needed to make this race 100% effective. There are two ways in which you can support a runner.

1. Per-mile sponsorship. Select one of our Team Sunshine runners who you would like to support. Then, decide on a dollar amount that matches your ability to give per mile (that your runner is anticipating to run). By selecting a runner's profile you can download and fill out a sponsorship form, specific to him/her. With your contribution, please note the name of the runner with whom you are sponsoring.

2. Special Gift Donation. If you would like to give to the effort of our whole team, a specific gift donation can be made directly to the ministry, using our secure, online donation form. Please leave the simple note "Race Day" to earmark your gift.

As a VOLUNTEER...Sunshine has a goal of seeing 100 friends of the ministry come out in support our runners in the lead up to the race. If you are looking for an exciting, hands-on way to support our ministry, here's a chance. Your time is your tool. If you can hand out water, you can help us.
